Peter Wagner defines a spiritual gift as “a special attribute given by the Holy Spirit to every member of the Body of Christ according to God’s grace for use within the context of the Body.”

I used to think that I hadn't gotten mine yet; that I was too young and had to wait. I watched a lot of magic shows: Charmed, Wizards of Waverly Place, Sabrina The Teenage Witch. In these shows, you grow into your powers, because can you imagine a baby being able to blow things up or freeze time? Dangerous. So naturally, I thought of spiritual gifts as magical powers and assumed I would grow into them when God decided I was ready...or my 18th birthday.

The truth, though, is that every believer in our big Body of Christ has a spiritual gift, likely more than one. And we all are called to use those gifts for the betterment of the world. God made us with these gifts for a purpose and we are supposed to use them. But how do you use a Spiritual Gift if you don't know what it is?

This series: Who Am I? is all about finding who you are in Christ and in the Church. I think it is crucial to know your spiritual gifts so you can better find a place in both your relationship with Christ and your place in the Church.

Yes, we took a spiritual gifts quiz last year, but yes, we are going to take one again. We need to know who we are. We need to hear where God is calling us and what He's calling us to do.

Wednesday, we will be taking the quiz and then breaking up to discuss how our gifts guide what we can do with them. Then, because we know what our gifts are, next week's project will be much more exciting!

Adults, curious about your Spiritual Gifts?
